Stephen Ministry
The mission of the Stephen Ministry is to provide the opportunity for Eucharist to those who cannot join us in the formal Church community. Beyond the Sacramental encounter, we hope to offer an encounter with Christ’s mercy and love through our presence. If you are interested in participating in this ministry, please contact our Deacon, Michael Kelly by calling the Parish Office. Mothers’ Group This is a group of young mothers who do not work outside their homes. They provide mutual support and assist each other in their spiritual growth and growth as parents. During the school year the group meets weekly, usually on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., with babysitting available. For further information, please call the Parish Office. Grief Ministry Our Grief Ministry Team offers grief support for individuals who have lost a loved one. Support groups meet in the Spring and the Fall. People can meet individually with our Pastoral Associate, Kathy Klocek. For more information call 412 373-7588. Parish Health Ministry Parish Health Ministry provides blood pressure screening after the 7:00 p.m. Saturday and 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon Masses on the second Sunday of each month. They also offer health education programs throughout the year. Parish nurses make home visits to the sick or homebound. For more information call our Pastoral Associate at 412 373-7588. Prayer Chain The Prayer Chain provides a vehicle for anyone with a specific prayer or petition to have a list of fellow Christians join in that prayer. If you have a prayer need, phone 412 373-0050 and it will be passed along to all members of the chain. If you would like to join this prayer network, call the Parish Office (412 373-0050) and leave your name and phone number. Visitation of the Sick and Viaticum Call the Parish Office if anyone is ill at home or in the hospital. This is the only way we know if someone is ill. Patients at Forbes Regional Health Center should inform them that St. Bernadette is your parish, especially if you are admitted through the emergency room. Our Pastoral Associate visits the homebound once a month to bring communion; call the Pastoral Associate’s office |
